I was always fond of animals since childhood. During my vacations, I developed a fondness for the cows and the bulls (domestic pets) at my native place Munge (Achra), Malvan. Usually, I would love to spend time playing around them. But I had never imagined that later in life, I would ever own or adopt any cow. This was unbelievable, it was turning out to be a reality after 40 years. It was destined to happen, I believe...

Of course sourcing, the cows was a big challenge. I visited many places and people. Social tools might be a boon or a curse, they say but for me, technology turned out to be a boon. Through Youtube, I understood various factors in order to procure cows. Our 5 calves are from Surat, they’re called Vitthal, Rukmini, Anandi, Ekadashi, and Navami. It is not our intention to make a profit out of them by any commercial means or even by selling the products such as selling milk, etc. At Pithapuram, we intend to raise them, for a better tomorrow, and to restore the best of their tribe. “श्री स्वामीच ह्या पंच प्राणात” meaning in these 5 cows reside our divine – Our Swami. These were the words my soul whispered when I met these 5 cows. From that time till now, we are a family.

Dwarkamai Gir Nandi Gaushala was established in 2020, it is their home. We sincerely intend to restore our Vedic culture where the cow was worshiped. The cow also called Gau Mata, is the one who showers blessings for an abundance of health, wisdom, and prosperity.
